Online reports describe Asteroid’s aromas as earthy, pungently citrus-laced, and accented with a tinge of mint.
The flavor of Asteroid’s smoke coats the tongue with a nutty, creamy mint and citrus flavor.
Grow information
Asteroid is thought to be a combination of OG Kush and a mysterious second hybrid, one with more indica characteristics. At full maturity Asteroid produces olive-colored, grape-shaped buds with a sprinkling of orange pistils. Little information is available online regarding Asteroid’s cultivation requirements.
Asteroid is unavailable as seeds or clones.
Asteroid is a rare slightly indica dominant hybrid strain (60% indica/40% sativa) created through crossing the infamous OG Kush with another unknown indica-dominant hybrid strain. Even with the lack of information about its heritage, this bud is infamous among the cannabis community thanks to its insanely high THC level that runs from 23-30% on average and mind-melting effects that will overwhelm even the most experienced of users.
Asteroid OG Strain: A Mysterious OG Kush Hybrid
It’s no secret that the San Fernando Valley has a wide variety of OG Kush strains. When walking into a collective in the SFV. It’s a common occurrence to find as many as 10 different OG strains.
Often times these OG varieties are merely phenotypes of the same strain that were given a new name. However, there are just as many strains that were created by breeding an OG with another one of the growers favorite strains for a slightly different effect.
How Might The Asteroid OG Strain Affect Me?
I came across this batch of the Asteroid OG strain on my recent trip to SFVDM in Van Nuys, CA. I had seen batches of this strain in the past, but I never ventured to give it a try. Mostly because nobody was able to give me a definitive answer on the genetics.
